Schweitzer Information Session

Come and learn about an exciting interdisciplinary community service fellowship opportunity open to UVM College of Medicine students.  Lunch will be provided.

Schweitzer Fellowship Informational Meeting
Tuesday, December 3rd at 12 Noon, MedEd 200

Each year, the NH/VT Schweitzer Fellows Program selects approximately 25 students from multiple schools, including Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth; Vermont Law School; UVM College of Medicine; UNH School of Law; and the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth.
These Schweitzer Fellows partner with community-based organizations to design and implement a yearlong service project that addresses the needs of underserved members of their community. The project is performed under the guidance of a mentor at the community site and a faculty mentor at the Fellow’s professional school. They also meet together as a Fellowship group, sponsor symposia and service days for their communities, and become part of a network of Fellows for Life that will support them throughout their careers.

The NH/VT Schweitzer Fellows Program is one of 12 Schweitzer programs across the U.S. dedicated to developing a pipeline of emerging professionals who will enter the workforce with the skills and commitment necessary to address unmet needs of vulnerable members of our communities.

The Fellowship is open to students enrolled in a degree program through March 2015.  Fellows receive a

$2,000 stipend. Application guidelines available on our website: For more information, please contact any of the individuals below.
