Each year, the NH/VT Fellows from all five participating schools (Dartmouth, UVM, VT Law School and UNH Law School) come together on a Sunday in September for an all-day Retreat. The main purpose of the Retreat is to encourage conversation and bonding among the Fellows, to re-inspire Fellows about service and projects, and to provide some information about Albert Schweitzer.
In 2013, the Retreat took place at the Rock Point School, which is a small and unique learning community for teenagers in Burlington, VT. We met in the school’s beautiful library, participated in a panel discussion with some students and the Director, and ate lunch prepared by staff and students. The day also included two presentations by Fellows for Life: Meghan Duff and Wynona Ward; some organized small group discussion; as well as unstructured time for Fellows to spend together. The Retreat ended with a cook-out at the nearby North Beach, on the shore of Lake Champlain and looking across at the Adirondack Mountains.
